DESCRIPTION: * WHAT...Heat index values up to 100 expected. * WHERE...Portions of northwest and west central Minnesota, and east North Dakota. * WHEN...From noon to 8 PM CDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Light wind and ample sunshine amid hot temperatures and high humidity will contribute to heat related impacts.
INSTRUCTION: Drink plenty of fluids, and take frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to the morning hours. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1. If you do not have air conditioning in your home or lack shelter, you can call 211 for assistance locating appropriate shelter from the heat.

Cumulus clouds are fluffy and textured with rounded tops, and
may have flat bottoms. The border of a cumulus cloud
is clearly defined, and can have the appearance of cotton or cauliflower.
Cumulus clouds form at low altitudes (rarely above 2 km) but can grow very tall,
becoming cumulus congestus and possibly the even taller cumulonimbus clouds.
When cumulus clouds become taller, they have a greater chance of producing precipitation.
