AREAS AFFECTED: W Mendocino NF/E Mendocino Unit

DESCRIPTION: ...SCATTERED DRY THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE THURSDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING AND FRIDAY ACROSS THE INTERIOR MOUNTAINS... .Scattered dry thunderstorms are forecast to develop in the Klamath Mountains Thursday afternoon and evening. The highest confidence of storms is in Siskiyou, Northern Humboldt, Eastern Del Norte, and Trinity counties. Some thunder potential also exists in southern Humboldt and in the Yolla Bollys. Thunderstorms are possible again on Friday, with storms possible further south into interior Mendocino and Northern Lake, along with interior Humboldt and Trinity Counties. The National Weather Service in Eureka has issued a Fire Weather Watch, which is in effect from Friday morning through Friday evening. * AFFECTED AREA...Fire weather zone 277. * THUNDERSTORMS...Scattered thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon, mostly over the higher terrain. * OUTFLOW WINDS...Gusty and erratic outflow winds up to 50 mph are possible. * IMPACTS...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Fog is technically a type of stratus cloud, which lies along the ground and obscures visibility.

It is usually created when humidity in the air condenses into tiny water droplets. Because of this, some places are more prone to foggy weather, such as regions close to a body of water.

Fog is similar to mist; both are the appearance of water droplets suspended in the air, but fog is the term applied to the condition when visibility is less than 1 km.
