DESCRIPTION: FFWGJT The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for... The Lee burn scar in... South Central Rio Blanco County in northwestern Colorado... * Until 245 PM MDT. * At 1248 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain over the Lee Burn Scar. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will result in debris flows. The debris flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials. HAZARD...Flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding in and around the Lee Burn Scar. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of areas in and around the Lee Burn Scar. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... mainly rural areas of South Central Rio Blanco County
INSTRUCTION: Heavy rainfall will cause extensive and severe flash flooding of creeks...streams...and ditches in the Lee Burn Scar. Severe debris flows can also be anticipated across roads. Roads and driveways may be washed away in places. If you encounter flood waters...climb to safety. Move away from recently burned areas. Flooding of creeks, roads and normally dry arroyos is likely. The heavy rains will likely trigger rockslides, mudslides and debris flows in steep terrain, especially in and around these areas.

Stratocumulus clouds are similar to altocumulus clouds in their
fluffy appearance, but have a slightly darker shade due to their additional mass.
A good way to distinguish the two cloud types is to hold your hand out and measure
the size of an individual cloud; if it is the size of your thumb it is generally
an altocumulus cloud, if it is the size of your hand it is generally a
stratocumulus cloud.
It is uncommon for stratocumulus clouds to produce precipitation, but if they do
it is usually a light rain or snow.

A wall cloud forms underneath the base of a cumulonimbus cloud,
and can be a hotbed for deadly tornadoes.
Wall clouds are formed by air flowing into the cumulonimbus clouds, which can
result in the wall cloud descending from the base of the cumulonimbus cloud, or
rising fractus clouds which join to the base of the storm cloud as the wall cloud
takes shape.
Wall clouds can be very large, and in the Northern Hemisphere they generally
form at the southern edge of cumulonimbus clouds.
