DESCRIPTION: The National Weather Service in Tucson has issued a * Dust Advisory for... Eastern Pima County in southeastern Arizona... Southeastern Pinal County in southeastern Arizona... Western Santa Cruz County in southeastern Arizona... * Until 815 PM MST. * At 642 PM MST, an area of dust was located along a line from 9 miles west of Nogales to near Drexel Heights to 14 miles northwest of Saddlebrooke Ranch, moving west at 25 mph. HAZARD...Less than three miles visibility. SOURCE...Detected by National Weather Service meteorologists. IMPACT...Hazardous travel. * Locations impacted include... Tucson, Catalina, Oro Valley, Marana, Sahuarita, Green Valley, Nogales, Tubac, Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Casas Adobes, Drexel Heights, Rio Rico, Eloy, Flowing Wells, Saddlebrooke, South Tucson, Three Points, Avra Valley, Saddlebrooke Ranch and Pascua Pueblo Yaqui Reservation. This includes the following highways... Interstate 19 between mile markers 1 and 63. Route 79 between mile markers 92 and 120. Route 86 between mile markers 123 and 171. Graupel is a form of precipitation that is created by atmospheric conditions
which cause supercooled water droplets to contact snow crystals and freeze to
their surface.
Sometimes known as soft hail or snow pellets, graupel is delicate and easily
destroyed by touch. Whereas hail usually falls during severe weather, graupel
doesn't require such conditions to form, and can form in mild precipitation
similar to situations which produce snowfall.

A hole punch cloud is an unusual occurrence when a disk-shaped
hole appears in a cirrostratus, cirrocumulus, or altocumulus cloud.
When part of the cloud forms ice crystals, water droplets in the surrounding area
of the cloud evaporate. The effect of this process produces a large elliptical
gap in the cloud. The hole punch cloud formation is rare, but it is not specific
to any geographic area.
Other names which have been used to describe this phenomena include fallstreak hole,
skypunch, and cloud hole.
